Center for East Asian Studies

Korea University’s Center for East Asia Studies, affiliated to the Global Research Institute (GRI), was established in 2009 as a research organ of Graduate School of International Studies/ Division of International Studies at Korea University for the purpose of conducting studies on intra-regional trade, financial transactions, and economic cooperation in East Asia. Since its inception, the Center has been actively engaged in research activities including academic research projects, seminars and international academic conferences. The Center held the international academic conference known as the 14th Asia-Europe Economic Forum (hereafter AEEF) in 2017 to discuss ‘Prospects for the Asia-Europe Economic Cooperation in a New World Order’ in Seoul, Korea with Bruegel, one of leading think tanks in Europe as well as the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), Bertelsmann Stiftung, CEPII and Peking University. The Center focuses on academic research by conducting various research projects with world's leading institutions and publishing books and papers on the East Asian economy.
