글로벌서비스센터에서는 2021학년도 2학기 외국인 학부 장학생을 선발합니다. 신청 방법 및 신청 기간은 아래와 같습니다.

2. 장학금 종류:
가. 성적우수장학금 (성적 우수자 자동 선발, 별도 신청 불필요)
나. 성적향상장학금 (별도 신청 필요)
다. 면학장학금 (별도 신청 필요)
3. 신청방법: KUPID(http://portal.korea.ac.kr) → 로그인 → 등록/장학 → 장학금 신청
4. 공통신청자격:
가. 외국인전형으로 입학한 외국인 학부생
나. 2021학년도 1학기에 재학한 외국인 학부생 (2021학년도 2학기 휴학 예정자 및 2021년 8월 졸업예정자 제외)
다. 2021학년도 1학기 취득학점 12학점 이상
라. 세부사항은 본교 장학금 지급규정에 따름

* 선발 결과는 8월 초중순 쯤 선발자에게 개별 이메일 안내할 예정입니다. (결과 발표 일정 변동 가능성 있음)
* 장학금은 2021학년도 2학기 등록금 고지서에 수업료 사전 감면 금액으로 반영될 예정입니다. (본인 계좌에 장학금 입금되지 않음)
* 포털(KUPID) 장학금 신청 및 서류 제출은 반드시 신청 기간 내에 완료되어야 합니다. 신청 기간이 종료된 후에는 어떠한 경우에도 추가 접수가 불가합니다.
※ 장학금별 세부 안내
1. 성적우수장학금
- 대상 : 2021학년도 1학기 성적이 우수한 외국인 학부 재학생
- 장학금액 : 다음 학기 (2021학년도 2학기) 수업료 전액(100%)
- 신청방법 : 별도 신청 필요 없음, 성적 우수자 자동 선발
- 제출 서류 : 없음
2. 성적향상장학금
- 대상 : 2021학년도 1학기 성적이 직전 학기(2020학년도 2학기)에 비해 월등히 향상된 외국인 학부 재학생
▷ 비교대상 두 학기 모두 12학점 이상 취득자 중,
2021학년도 1학기 평점평균(전체) 3.0 (F포함 성적) 이상인 자만 지원 가능
▷ 2020학년도 2학기 휴학생은 휴학 직전학기 성적 적용
- 장학금액 : 다음 학기 (2021학년도 2학기) 수업료의 반액(50%)
- 신청방법 : KUPID(http://portal.korea.ac.kr) → 로그인 → 등록/장학 → 장학금 신청
- 제출 서류 : 없음
3. 면학장학금
- 대상 : 경제적인 도움이 필요한 외국인 학부 재학생 (수업연한의 1/2을 초과해서 지급하지 않음)
▷ 2021학년도 1학기 12학점 이상 취득자이며, 평점평균(전체) 2.0 (F포함 성적) 이상인 자만 지원 가능
- 장학금액: 다음 학기 (2021학년도 2학기) 수업료의 50% (반액)
- 신청방법: KUPID(http://portal.korea.ac.kr) → 로그인 → 등록/장학 → 장학금 신청
- 제출 서류: (필수 서류 ①, ② 모두 제출해야 신청 완료)
① (*필수) 장학금 신청사유서 1부, 면학장학금 신청자 재정상황 평가표 1부 - 포털(KUPID) 온라인 지원 시 첨부파일로 제출
: 본인의 상황에 대해 최대한 명확하고 간결하게 작성 (한국어 120단어 내외 또는 영문 150단어 내외로 작성)
: (양식 첨부파일 참조) 파일명 -> 학생학번, 이름_신청사유서.doc/학생학번, 이름_재정상황평가표.xlsx
② (*필수) 교수 추천서 1부 - 자유양식, 포털(KUPID) 온라인 지원 시 첨부파일로 제출
: 교수님의 소속, 성명, 날짜, 서명과 함께 가정 형편과 재정 상황에 대한 구체적인 언급이 있을 경우에만 인정
: 2021학년도 1학기(3월 이후)에 작성된 추천서로 교수(강사 불가)가 작성한 추천서만 인정 (여름방학 기간 포함)
: 파일명 -> 학생학번, 이름_교수추천서.pdf
③ (선택) 각종 재정 상황 증명 서류 - 이메일 또는 방문 제출
: 모든 재정 상황 증빙 서류는 가족관계증명서와 함께 제출 필수
: 모든 서류는 한글 또는 영문본만 인정
: 예) 기초생활수급 증빙 서류, 실업/구직급여 수급 증빙 서류, 소득세 납입 증명서, 월급 증명, 은행 대출 서류, 직전학기 송금액을 확인할 수 있는 통장 사본, Food Stamp 등 식료품 지원 확인 서류 등 (모든 서류는 본인 혹은 직계가족의 서류를 제출)
: 파일명 -> 학생학번, 이름_서류명.pdf
* 이메일 제출처 : 학번, 이름과 함께 gsc@korea.ac.kr 로 제출
* 방문 제출처 : 학번, 이름과 함께 글로벌서비스센터에 제출

[Fall 2021] Scholarships for Undergraduate Degree-seeking Int'l Students

2) Available Scholarships
a) Academic Excellence Scholarship
(No application required. If you’ve achieved an outstanding GPA, you will automatically be nominated)
b) Academic Improvement Scholarship
c) Need Based Scholarship
3) How to Apply: KUPID (http://portal.korea.ac.kr) → Log In → Scholarship Application → Apply
4) Basic Eligibility:
- International students who got into KU with international students qualifications administered by the International Education Team.
- Undergraduate international students who have attended the Spring semester of 2021, and will enroll for the Fall semester of 2021.
(Those who plan to take the upcoming semester off or graduate in Aug 2021, please do not apply)
- Those who have achieved a minimum of 12 credits or more in Spring 2021.

* Scholarship recipients will be notified by early-mid August via email. (Date of announcement is subject to change without notice.)
* Scholarship benefits would be directly applied on your tuition invoice as deductions. (It won’t be deposited into your bank account)
* Global Services Center does not accept any late applications caused by technical errors occurred on a personal computer and any additional documents after the closing date.
※ Detailed Information
A) Academic Excellence Scholarship
- Eligibility: Undergraduate int’l students who achieved an outstanding GPA in the Spring semester of 2021.
- Benefit: 100% of tuition for Fall 2021
- How to apply: No Application required
* No additional documents required
B) Academic Improvement Scholarship
- Eligibility: Undergraduate int’l students who achieved a better GPA in the Srping semester of 2021 compared to the one in the Fall semester of 2020.
▷ must have obtained a minimum of 12 credits in both semesters AND achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the Spring semester of 2021.
▷ those who took the Fall semester of 2020 off can apply with the previous semester’s GPA
- Benefit: 50% of tuition for Fall 2021

* No additional documents required
C) Need Based Scholarship
- Eligibility: Undergraduate int’l students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds. Those who need financial support to pay tuition.
(Not to exceed 1/2 of regularly required number of semester)
- Benefit: 50% of tuition for Fall 2021
- How to Apply: KUPID (http://portal.korea.ac.kr) → Log In → Scholarship Application → Apply
- Additional documents:
① (*Required) 'Explanatory Statement' and 'Personal Financial Statement' upload as an attachment to your online application on the KUPID(portal)
: Write about your current financial situation and plan for the 2021 Fall. (In about 150words in English or in about 120words in Korean)
: (Please find the attachment) Save the file as 'student ID number, name_Explanatory Statement.doc’ (word) / student ID number, name_Financial Statement.xlsx (excel)
② (*Required) Recommendation letter from professor upload as an attachment to your online application on the KUPID(portal) (recommendation letter from part-time instructor is not accepted)
: The professor's department, name, signature and the date on which the letter was signed must be included.
: The letter must address the financial hardships you’ve been going through in detail.
: Only those letters that are written and signed in Spring 2021(March 2021~) including summer vacation and fulfill the above requirements will be considered.
: Please save the file as "student ID number, name_Recommendation letter.pdf"
③ (Optional) Additional documents that reflect your current financial situation
: All documents must be submitted along with a copy of your ‘family relation certificate’ or any other official document that can replace the family relation certificate.
: All documents must be either in Korean or English only.
: ex) Certificate of Basic Livelihood Security System grants, Unemployment Benefits, Income tax return transition, Salary Certificate, Bank Loan Agreement, Copy of bankbook containing all remittance from your country (previous semester), Certificate of Food Assistance(Food Stamp, etc.) (Only documents for lineal family members are accepted)
: Please save the file as "student ID number, Document title.pdf" (For all the additional documents, please include a deion of the document and the reason for submission.)
* Please submit ③ to GSC in person (#201, Dongwon Global Leadership Hall, Office Hour 10 A.M.- 5 P.M., Lunch Break 12 P.M - 1 P.M.) or by email at gsc@korea.ac.kr (To prevent the spread of COVID-19, please submit your documents via email as much as possible.)
