Sidney Tarrow (Ph.D., Berkeley) is the Emeritus Maxwell M. Upson Professor of Government at Cornell University and Visiting Professor at the Cornell Law School. He is one of the most internationally renowned scholars in comparative politics, especially in the study of social movements and contentious politics. Prof. Tarrow is the author of numerous books and articles and his recent books are Power in Movement: Social Movements and Contentious Politics (3^rd edition, Cambridge University Press 2011), Strangers at the Gates: Movements and States in Contentious Politics (Cambridge University Press 2012), The Language of Contention: Revolutions in Words 1688-2012 (Cambridge University Press 2013), and War, States, and Contention: A Comparative Historical Study (Cornell University Press 2015). His lecture at Korea University will be based on his most recent book, The Resistance: The Dawn of the Anti-Trump Opposition Movement (co-edited with David S. Meyer, Oxford University Press 2018).
