Lecture Highlights

  • The lecture will provide an overview of climate-related ODA to Lao PDR and analyze the adequacy and relevance of climate-related ODA from DAC countries to Lao PDR 
  • Employing the Rio Markers, the lecture will identify potential areas where Lao PDR has urgent needs for additional climate-related ODA in the future
  • The lecture will also share preliminary recommendations that can be considered by relevant stakeholders to increase climate-related ODA to Lao PDR 


Associate Professor Bounmy Inthakesone is currently a visiting professor at KU GSIS under CAMPUS Asia Plus Program. He has over 20 years of teaching experience at the Faculty of Economics and Business Management at the National University of Laos. During his time at NUOL, he worked as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at University of Michigan, a Visiting Research Fellow at IDE-JETRO in Japan, and as a fellow at Lee Kuan Yew School at the National University of Singapore. Professor Inthakesone has a master’s degree in Economics from Kobe University and a Ph.D. in Public Policy from KDI School of Public Policy and Management.
