Dear Members of the College of
International Studies and Graduate School of International Studies,
I am Valerie
Liang, Programme Manager from the Global Institute for Tomorrow, an independent
pan-Asian Think Tank based in Hong Kong.
We are pleased
to share that GIFT will be hosting the second of three virtual
conferences, Finding Common Values: Plurality in the Emerging New World
Order on 13th October 2022. This
conference is part of the series Join the
Conversation: China in the 21st Century and will
be held by GIFT with the support of the Commissioner’s Office of China’s
Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong S.A.R.
With rising
geopolitical tensions as the backdrop, this second conference aims to spark an
important and timely conversation about the often-used term ‘common values’ in
discussing foreign policy matters. The conference will bring together experts
and opinion shapers to discuss the geopolitical challenges posed by rising
tensions and the importance of leveraging common values by which to foster
political, economic and cross-cultural collaboration for mutual benefit. The
objective is to arrive at a common understanding given regional differences
with a view to helping ease geopolitical tensions and create a greater capacity
for friendly dialogue and collaboration. Please
refer to the conference
website and our
pamphlet for more information.
We would like
to cordially invite you and members of Korea University’s College of
International Studies and Graduate School of International Studies to
