Recently, it has been found that foreigners who have been staying in Korea for a long term re-entered Korea with Covid-19 after leaving the country, raising the need to strengthen the immigration control for those entering from the regions where infectious diseases are prevalent.

Accordingly, the Korean Ministry of Justice will take measures such as "suspension of re-entry permit exemption and implementation of re-entry permit system" and "mandatory submission of re-entry certificate, medical certificate" effective from June 1 to minimize the foreigners traffic between Korea and risky areas by strengthening the re-entry requirements for registered aliens in Korea.

Please refer to the attached files if you plan to leave the country after June 1st, apply for re-entry permit, and make sure that you have a medical certificate when re-entering the country, so that you will not be disadvantaged upon your entry.

Medical certificate needs to include Covid-19 related symptoms check-up results.

Only Korean, English texts are accepted.

Must be issued within 48 hours prior to the date of departure.
