IOM 한국대표부에서는 2021년부터 보다 많은 분들께 인도적 지원의 다양한 분야에대한 이해를 넓히는 기회를 제공하고자 매분기 <인도적지원지식공유웨비나시리즈>를진행하고 있습니다.  

그열한 번째 웨비나가 오는 3월 26일(화) 오후 4시에 <잊혀진 재난, 북서부 시리아 인도적 위기 상황>이라는주제로 월드비전과의 협력으로 개최됩니다.  

지난 2023년에 발생한 튀르키예-시리아 지진은 15만 명 이상의 사상자를 발생시켰고, 수십만 명의 사람들을 인도적 위기 상황으로 몰아넣었습니다. 특히 시리아 북서부 지역은 이미 십년 이상 지속된 분쟁으로 피폐해진 상황에서 지진 피해까지 겹쳐 최악의 인도적 위기를 맞고 있습니다. 그러나 국내에서 많은 주목을 받은 튀르키예의 상황과는 달리, 시리아의 상황은 상대적으로 알려지지 않아 우리의 관심 속에서 잊혀지고 있는 듯합니다. 

이번 웨비나를 통해 최근의 식량 위기와 격화되는 교전 상황, 그리고 줄어드는 국제 사회의 관심과 지원으로 복합적인 위기를 겪고 있는 시리아 북서부 지역의 인도적 지원 상황에 대해 IOM과 월드비전의 현장 전문가들과 함께 알아보는 기회를 갖고자 합니다.

Since 2021, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Mission in the Republic of Korea (ROK) has been organizing the Humanitarian Assistance Knowledge Sharing Webinar Series. These webinars aim to provide opportunities for individuals to enhance their understanding of humanitarian assistance by introducing various fields.

The 11th webinar, scheduled for March 26th, will focus on the topic of "Humanitarian Situation Update in Northwest Syria" in coordination with World Vision Korea.

February 2024 marks one year since the deadly earthquakes hit Türkiye and Syria. While the situation in Türkiye was widely reported and attracted huge public attention in ROK, little has been known about the humanitarian struggles in northwest Syria. 


 In this webinar, we would like to highlight the humanitarian situation and response by IOM and World Vision in northwest Syria, which is undergoing a decade-long conflict compounded by the impact of the 2023 earthquakes as well as ongoing food shortages with field experts from both organizations.
