Seongjae Scholarship

International students at Korea University can receive various scholarships and funding through the university’s scholarship system. The Seongjae Scholarship was established with donations from the Yoon Kyung Foundation to attract outstanding international students to the DGKS and to nurture the next generation of leaders in Global Korean Studies.

Eligibility

 

- Foreign freshmen and enrolled foreign students in the DGKS.

- Individuals with a strong desire to learn about Korea's history, political economy, society, and culture

- Advanced Korean language proficiency (TOPIK level 5 or higher is preferred at the time of application)

- Current students must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and have completed at least 12 credits (not applicable to freshmen)

- For consecutive applications, Those who have improved their Korean language skills

- Recommended by Division Chair of DGKS or advisor

 

Application Period

 

Applications for the Spring semester will be announced in March/April, and for the Fall semester will be announced in September/October.

Payment Period

 

The scholarship can be received in conjunction with other scholarships, and the support period is one semester. However, you can apply again even if you have previously received the scholarship.

 

Benefits

 

Each semester, a fixed amount of 3,500,000 KRW and a scholarship certificate will be awarded to a maximum of two students in a lump sum.
