The CAMPUS Asia Plus Program is pleased to host the Special Lecture by Dr. Anne Juepner (Director of the UNDP Seoul Policy Centre) on Global Poverty and the Role of UNDP. Dr. Juepner’s lecture will focus on:
- Introduction to UN and Overview of UNDP’s Mandate
- Global Poverty: Evolution from Income-based to Multidimensional Approaches
- UNDP’s Work in Poverty (HDI, MPI)
- UNDP Seoul Policy Centre
Dr. Jeupner has more than 30 years of international development experience including 22 years of work with UNDP in global and country level assignments. Prior to joining USPC, she served as Director of the UNDP Global Policy Centre on Resilient Ecosystems and Desertification in Nairobi, Kenya (2014-2023); Coordinator of UNDP's Drylands Development Centre's Nairobi Office (2011-2014); Team Leader, Business Development Unit, with the UNDP Ethiopia Country Office (2008-2010); Resource Mobilization Advisor with UNDP’s Bureau of External Relations and Partnerships, BERA, in New York (2005-2007); and External Relations Officer with the UNDP Somalia Country Office (2001-2004). Dr. Jeupner holds a PhD in Development Studies from the University of Nairobi, Kenya, and a Master’s degree in engineering from the Technical University of Freiberg, Germany.
