KU GSIS is now accepting applications for the 2026 Fall Dual Degree Program with the School of Finance and Management (SFM) at SOAS University of London. We encourage interested students to apply.
Available Master’s Programs at SOAS
Under the KU-SOAS Dual Master’s Degree, KU GSIS students are eligible to take the following MSc programs:
MSc Public Policy and Management
MSc International Business
MSc International Marketing
Key Benefits of the KU-SOAS Dual Master's Degree:
1. Study Duration
Courses completed at SOAS during the dual degree program may be transferred to KU GSIS for up to 15 credits. By transferring credits from your SOAS MSc degree, you can complete both the KU and SOAS master's degrees in a minimum of two years, instead of the usual three years.
2. Tuition Fees
Students registering for the SOAS Master's degree under the dual degree program are eligible for a scholarship. KU GSIS students admitted to the program will be eligible for a 30% tuition fee reduction.
Program Options
Detailed dual degree program options with SOAS for KU GSIS students are as follows:
(i) Option 1: March Entry
6 months at KU → 1 year at SOAS → final 6 months at KU
Students begin their master’s program at KU in March and complete 6 months of coursework at KU.
In September of the first year, students move to SOAS and begin a one-year master’s program. At SOAS, students complete the regular master’s curriculum, including a dissertation. The dissertation must be submitted by September, and the SOAS degree will be conferred in December of the second year.
In September of the second year, students return to KU to complete the remainder of their KU degree. They may either take additional coursework or submit a second dissertation to KU on a topic clearly different from the dissertation submitted to SOAS.
(ii) Option 2: September Entry
1 year at KU → 1 Year at SOAS
Students study at KU for the first year.
If they meet KU’s progression requirements, they will continue to study at SOAS in the following September for their second year. They will complete a dissertation at SOAS, and the SOAS degree will be awarded in December of that second year.
Through either option, students who successfully complete the program will receive dual degrees, one from SOAS and one from KU, provided they satisfy the degree requirements of each institution.
Please note that since students must complete their final semester at KU, those who choose option 2 must register for an additional semester (a fifth semester at KU).

Important Notes
* Students nominated by KU GSIS are generally accepted by the host institution, however, the host institution reserves the right to review nominees and make the final admission decision.
* Even qualified applicants may be denied admission due to limited availability, capacity, or other circumstances at the host institution.
** Students receiving scholarships from external organizations such as POSCO, Pony Chung, NIIED, KOICA etc., for their studies at Korea University are not eligible to apply for exchange or dual degree programs.
*** After returning to KU GSIS from an exchange or dual degree program, students will not be eligible for the international scholarship for the following semester, since grades earned at the host institution cannot be directly compared with KU GSIS grades.
For dual degree students, this applies from the second semester at the host university through the semester of return to KU GSIS
