The CAMPUS Asia Plus Program at KU GSIS has recently launched the CAMPUS Asia Global Career Development Support Center (CAMPUS Asia 국제경력개발 지원센터) and is keen on exploring opportunities for students to cultivate practical skills and experiences. As part of its efforts, the CAMPUS Asia is pleased to announce an internship opportunity at UNESCO Bangkok (UNESCO Institute for Statistics- Asia and Pacific).

Internship Details
Under the overall authority of the Director of UNESCO Regional Office in Bangkok, and the direct supervision of the Senior Regional Advisor of UIS-AIMS units, the intern at UIS Asia and Pacific shall perform following activities:
- Support in undertaking literature reviews focusing the education development,
issues and challenges and recent education reforms in the countries in the Asia and pacific region
- Compile of the pacific countries data from UIS data browser; tabulate for analysis of the regions progress towards SDG4 and PacREF
- Support analyzing the data; producing charts and graphs to prepare State of Pacific Education Report (SOPER) 2026
- Support in collecting additional information such as case studies and policies from the countries in pacific
- Assists experts in the data collection, compilation, analysis and visualization of the
data for various reports and fact sheets
- Assist in organizing regional, sub regional and national training workshops organized by UIS -Asia and Pacific
In line with UNESCO’s overall gender mainstreaming strategy, the Individual Specialist is expected to integrate a gender perspective in all activities and apply gender analysis and mainstreaming concepts whenever feasible.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The programmes in which the intern will assist have an interdisciplinary character and include the following learning elements:
·General professional skills: Specific competencies and reflection on assignment-related abilities in a UN Organization; on-the-job skills such as time management, problem solving, team building; and career preparedness such as interview and communication skills, diplomacy, etc.
·Technical skills: Understanding and ability to collect, compile and analyze education data for policy advocacy and monitoring
- Inter-personal skills: communication, presentation and listening skills; multi-cultural awareness and cultural competency; and conflict and stress management; leadership; civic responsibility; engagement and active participation.
- Organization: Organizing and managing events, workshops and discussion using hardcore data and evidence for education programming and monitoring.
