The Campus Asia Program, BK21 Program of Glocal Studies and the Latin American Society are pleased to organize a special lecture by the Head of the Korea Office, Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI). CABEI is an international multilateral development financial institution established to promote economic integration and balanced development in Central America. Notably, CABEI established its Korea Office in Seoul in 2022, which serves as a vital bridge for expanding economic cooperation and investment between Korea and the Central American region.
For this special event, we are honored and pleased to invite Ms. Jaejin Lee, the Representative of the CABEI’s Korea Office, who will share her insights on the work of CABEI, the strategic relationship between Korea and CABEI as well as practical career tips for working for international organizations.

Short bio of the speaker
Ms. Jaejin Lee has served as the Representative of the Korea Office of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) since June 2024. In her current role, she is responsible for strengthening the Korea–CABEI partnership by facilitating the mobilization of concessional financing and promoting business and investment opportunities for Korean companies in the Central American region.
Prior to her current position, Ms. Lee led the Social Support Foundation Fund at CABEI Headquarters in Honduras for three years. In this role, she managed donor partnerships and trust funds from bilateral donors and private sector partners, while supporting high-impact social development initiatives aimed at accelerating economic and social progress across Central America.
Ms. Lee has more than 18 years of professional experience in international finance and multilateral development banking. Before joining CABEI, she worked at two major multilateral development banks: the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, in Seoul. Prior to IFC, Ms. Lee worked at the EBRD headquarters in London within the Agribusiness team, covering Eastern Europe, including Ukraine, North Africa, and Central Asia. She led debt financing projects from origination through investment committee approval and transaction signing, executing more than USD 300 million across 15 transactions.
Ms. Lee holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and holds a master’s degree in finance from the London School of Economics.
